Safety Guidelines & Information
During your stay in Cape Town, you will discover a unique, beautiful, and welcoming city. In general, there is no reason for concern, and traveling in the city is a pleasant and safe experience. However, as with any destination worldwide, it is recommended to follow a few basic safety guidelines to avoid unnecessary inconveniences:
1
Follow local instructions and safety regulations, as you would when traveling in any other country.
2
Avoid leaving personal belongings in a vehicle parked on the street. If secure indoor parking is not available, make sure items are covered and not visible from outside the vehicle.
3
Cape Town is a friendly and welcoming city, but there is also a population of homeless individuals, with certain areas having a higher presence than others. In most cases, they are not harmful; however, it is recommended to avoid prolonged conversations or engagement beyond basic courtesy.
4
Travelers moving as a group or with family can generally walk around residential areas in the evening without any special concern, while maintaining basic awareness of their surroundings.
